Digital Journey is driven by a mini-ITX embedded controller unit. This system is 10% of the size of a conventional computer system and only consumes 10% of the power. It is Linux based, one of the most secure operating systems ever designed and being open source is one of the least expensive to run.

Easy integration

We take existing public transport data to configure Digital Journey. Our data parsing plug-in modules enable the quick and easy addition of new data sources to our system. Data can be obtained from in-house databases, public web resources or specialist tracking hardware. Each new source must have a correctly configured access module which is produced by our programming team after careful analysis of the data source. Many of the common databases in use are already catered for.

Connectivity

Data connections can be made via two main routes - Ethernet or GSM modem. The Ethernet can be configured to connect to your in-house computer network or to an ADSL modem connected to a suitable PSTN telephone line.

The GSM modem uses the mobile telephone network to access the internet. This avoids any infrastructure disruption and gives a larger degree of mobility and flexibility in positioning. Perfect for conference venues or temporary offices.
